Except for a variation in binding agents, it's the same recipe.
The ancient Romans made concrete by mixing cement, sand, and water with rock rubble. The Egyptians used lime and gypsum as binding agents.
Today, Portland cement, a mixture of limestone and clay, is the most common ingredient in concrete.
