YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH

This is pretty neat

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read .

Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!

This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to
go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758...

If you haven't, add 1757.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number. ( I. e., How many times
you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

Dove, I had a 3 digit number (152) , but the first digit was 1 and I said I wanted to eat out 4 times a week
(1 breakfast, 2 lunch, 1 dinner). But the age # was correct. :glare:, dang it.
Thanks!:D

I came up with 335. I said I wanted to eat out 3x a week and I am 35, pretty neat! I love math puzzles like this.

I think maybe you accidentally forgot to change the 4 to a 3 when you subtracted your birth year. I did it using 4 as the number of times you wanted to eat out, and your birth year, and it came out 452. Easy to do.

Thank You Dove. The puzzle works great.
Hats off to all of you that did this in your head. I am embarased to say, I required the services of a calculator.

Certainly no shame in that! I used paper. My husband could do it in his head, but I can barely add 2+2 in my head!

LOL all...can't hide tour age here.
You're so right! Actually I have never understood lying about it anyway. Most people think James and I are younger than we are, so we could probably get away with it, but as I always say, I'd rather they think I am a young looking 50-year-old than an old looking 29-year-old!
