Using cell phone when being charged

I received an email saying using a cell phone while it is being charged is dangerous. I've used mine while it is being charged in the house and in the car and never had a problem. Does anyone have any information on this. I'm thinking what I received is a hoax.

Sounds a bit bogus to me. What did they say would happen to you?

This sounded bogus to me as well so I did a quick check on snopes.com. According to them this is actually true.

The catch is that they believe it was specific to this one persons particular phone, so it does not sound like something that would happen to the average person. It was just a fluke.

My first thought when I saw the subject line was "Don't the cops usually confiscate cell phones?"

Wow that's a new one. The only one that I've really heard about was not using your phone while you're filling up gas!
