They owe my company a pretty large sum of money. I wonder how that's going to pan out.
 
If you need these brands, you might want to get on the Replacements, Ltd email list. I have an outdated pattern of Royal Doulton, and have been able to pick up filler pieces at substantially less than originl price. They may buy the remaining stock.
 
Much of the business has now shifted offshore, where it employs 5,800 people, including 1,500 people at a plant in Jakarta, Indonesia, which produces most of the company's ceramics. The majority of its crystal production has been handed to Eastern European subcontractors.
The whole allure of this stuff is that it was hand made in Great Britain and Ireland... now its just an outsourced brand.

Fine china has dipped in popularity as people gravitated towards more casual choices.

These companies made beautiful stuff but they did not position themselves well.
