They sure are cute! And I sure wish I had that thick green grass in my yard! Way too many fire ant hills in ours.

I had never heard of those Red Ants til I moved down here. Lordy, they are just plain EVIL.

You're not kidding Jan! Twice I made the mistake of standing still, once in a friend's yard and once in mine (standing at a friend's car window talking to her) and suddenly felt like my leg was on fire. I just yelled, "Ants!" and ran in the house, ripped my clothes off and jumped in the shower! Fortunately I'm not allergic, but when enough bite me at once they do raise some nasty red bumps. We didn't have those nasty critters in California!
