Spike and I went shopping this morning for our monthly groceries. We went into the store at 7:30. Our thinking was we would be there before the holiday crowd got out of church. Boy, were we so wrong. It was already packed with folks who were planning a big celebration of July 4th. As fast as the stock people were filling the shelves, they were empty again. And all 36 registers were open. We both ended up getting just the essentials and made a fast exit. We can go back and finish after the holiday.

I don't think I've ever been in a market with 36 check out stands.

It is one hell of a big store. And every register had a line. I can't cover the whole store, so Spike does one half and I do the other half. It cuts down on the time we are shopping and get done sooner.

I'll be at work, they are planning hot dogs and burgers for staff and residents.

Thank you, MC!

My brother won't be able to make it over today, so we're going to grill our rib eyes tomorrow afternoon. I'll make the potato salad tomorrow morning, cut up the watermelon, set the table, and do whatever else ahead of time so we'll be able to just grill and relax.
