It's really hard to search for something online when you don't know what to call it.

It's a tool you use to reach and grasp something. It has a squeeze grip and an extension with a pincer gripper thingy on the end. You squeeze and the pincer closes on the item you want to grab.

I call them pillstrom tongs and my experience with them has been dealing with very agile venomous snakes.

Andy, I just looked at them at Harbor Freight and they had them for $1.99. Pretty inexpensive.

My best friend just had double cataract surgery and couldn't bend over or lift much. She bought a couple at Harbor Freight to keep at both ends of her house.

I have had one for years that I use to get seldom-used items off the upper shelves of the pantry and in our closets. They're darn handy little gadgets.
