I love almost all of the Food Network shows.
My favorites are Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals and $40 a day (but she kind of annoys me so I have to take her in small doses), Paula Deen, Emeril, Alton Brown's show (I forgot the name), Iron Chef America, and Food 911 (I have a crush on Tyler).
I also like that one where Gordon Elliot goes into people's houses and cooks whatever they have in the fridge...but I am not sure if its on anymore.

Sorry, but none of the American series or chefs have appeared over here, I suppose the different way of measuring and cooking may have something to do with it - OR we have lots of our own, excellent chefs?!!! These do not all currently have shows on TV, but a number of their shows are being repeated ad infinitum on one or other cable/satellite channel!
Jamie Oliver
Nigella Lawson
Gordon Rankin
Delia Smith
Gary Rhodes
Antonio Carluccio
Jean-Christoph Novelli
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall
Nigel Slater
Anton Mossiman
Nick Nairn (my personal fave)

I don't watch cooking shows, so, I never answered this thread. BUT, last night, dh found a show that he was trying to tell me about a month or so ago and it kinda went in one ear and out the other. LOL I was on the computer as usual. Well, I love Lisence to Grill. Rob Rainford can make you salivate even when your full!! Yummy!!!! DH has to get the grill fired up now. LOL

I'd have to say Essence of Emeril, Emeril Live, followed by Paula's Home Cooking, Everyday Italian, 30-Minute Meals, Simply Ming, Good Eats and Unwrapped.

I like "Good Eats". It has already been pointed out that not all of Alton Brown's recipes are the best, but it's nice to know the hows/whys of why things work (or don't).
I enjoy most food shows. Even if they aren't among my 'favorites', I will go to food shows on Food Network or PBS as my back-up 'background noise' viewing.

I forgot about that one, but only certain episodes of it I like, like yourself.
And BTW, if anyone is interested, some of these show ARE available on DVDs at Target! I saw on display Good Eats, Paula's Home Cooking, 30-Minute Meals, Everyday Italian and Boy Meets Grill.

I like most of the ones on the Food network -- Tyler, Dave, Rachael, Paula, Giada, Ina, Alton, Guy's Big Bite, Ellie to name a few and several on PBS -- Daisy, Ming, America's Test Kitchen, Caprial and John, Everyday Food, one I can't remember the name but it's a chinese Mother and daughter and more. Also enjoy a few on the travel channel - Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations for one, and Dutch Oven, Campfire Cooking, and California Country on Rural TV

I wish I had one- I refuse to pay for cable when I would only watch 3 of the gazillion channels I would be paying for... hahaha. Wait, that's for the venting thread. Therefore, my fav cooking channel is my computer screen and all you on Discuss Cooking!
Edit: and thank you Bucky for mentioning PBS for us anti-cable people! I was afraid of the mockery I would hear! hahaha!
