Cool Why doesn't our moon have a name?

Other moons have names... why is our moon just The Moon?

Of course, even moon is better than "Big lifeless rock orbiting the Earth." We could have a contest to name the moon. Who knows, maybe it will catch on. LOL

Isn't the term "moon" named after the "Moon" and there for, aren't all the others defined by the name we call ours? Kind of an honour really...
