I got tired of having so many stupid plastic bags hanging around from my produce. The bulk of my shopping list is produce, and although lots of it will fit nicely in one bag the cashier has to ring them up separately. I was thinking it was such a wast of bags. So I decided to make some mesh bags for my produce to go along with my reusable shopping bags. But I was wondering, if I use these will my lettuce and cilantro and that sort of thing dry out in the fridge?

IMO they are better off in the mesh bags - they need air to keep fresh. If they are in the bottom of the fridge in mesh bags, I would have thought they would survive well enough.

Hey-what about Debbie Meyers "green bags" ? I've heard that your Strawberries will stay fresh for 26 years!!!

don't know about that Debbie's advice but this Debbie's advice is no it won't last 26 years but produce does last longer in those green bags and you can wash and reuse them again......they are worth the investment in other words..........
