I hate my kitchen. Badly designed, when the house was built back in 1978 least emphasis was put in the kitchen layout. The original owner/builder of the house was a single male and it's obvious he was not a kitchen person.

My kitchen is new and modern. I love my granite counter tops, cabinets, and multiple electrical wall outlets. Some would say my kitchen is big, but I think it's not big enough.
I really wish I had a wider, deeper kitchen sink, a bigger oven, and airconditioning inside my kitchen.

One thing that we did do is that when we moved here the old counters had to go. People kept trying to talk me into granite. I resisted because in the winters the damned room is COLD. Stone just was not going to cut it. My husband always wanted Corian, and I'm pretty happy with it. I don't walk into the room at 5 a.m. and just die when I touch a surface. My floors are the original stained pine, again, a pain in the butt, but the real thing. My windows are far older than both of us put together.

I suppose like many of you there are things I like and some I don't like about my kitchen. I would love to have a brand new modern kitchen, but like my sister who just built a Southern Living dream home, still doesn't like everything about it.
My kitchen is fine if I'm the only one in there...not because of it's size, but more the layout. All my small appliances except coffeemaker and toaster are in the pantry which is a room to itself - that helps since I only keep dishes, baking supplies and foods that have been opened in the kitchen. I have a side by side fridge which is so inefficient (but maybe that is me). It doesn't hold enough so overflow goes in the fridge or freezer in the garage. It sounds like I'm hopelessly unorganized and I intend to keep working on that. I'm jealous of you who have the kitchen they love.
