The amount of karma you earn is based on the karma power the person giving you karma has. So if I have a karma power of 8 and give you good karma then your karma increases by 8 points.

Here are other rules
- you can only give 10 people karma per day
- you have to give 10 different people karma before you can give the same member karma again
- all members have 10 karma points by default
- If a member has less then 5 karma points their "karma hits" do not count towards any other members until they get their karma back above 5.

What's the purpose of the Karma system...what do you DO with the points ???

It's a way of indicating your appreciation of another member's contribution to the forum. e.g. you ask for help and when a member helps you out, you can show your appreciation with karma. If someone posts a recipe you copy and use. or posts a good joke or whatever.

Karma has no cash value. All you can do with them is give them away. The great thing is when you give them away your balance does not go down!

If DH = dear husband, and DW = dear wife, and SIl is son-in-law, etc., what do GB, VB, and MJ stand for? And is it something similar to PBJ, or R.E.M.?
