how to format your posts
For the somewhat computer savy, click here for the direct link to DC's instructions on how to include formatting in your posts
You'll see that there are lots of formatting options - you may not use all of them but its always good to know your options. Last edited by subfuscpersona; 02-11-2007 at 12:58 PM. |

OK - we haven't had an addtion to this thread in awhile so I'll post another tip/trick. Does everyone know about the character map? If you click the Start button in the lower left corner of your computer screen a menu will pop up. OK, so here's the sequence:
1. Click Start 2. Click All Programs 3. Click Accessories 4. Click System Tools 5. Click Character Map If you want to put a degree symbol by an oven temp - like 350 degrees, you type your 350 and then hold the Alt key down while you click the sequence 0186 - this will produce º Look at the character map and the different font options. If you want to type an acute over the letter e you find it on the page, click on it and the instructions on how to type it will appear in the lower right of that box - the instructions for the acute say Keystroke+0233 - so if you hold down the Alt button and click the sequence 0233 this is what you get é. ô is Alt+0244 Check it out! You can just minimize the Character Map for easy access while you type.
