Thanks for the info on photo posting - I was wondering how to do it. Here I am, "pretending" to "manage" a website and I have absolutely no technical savy.

I would really like to put a picture with my name on here, but it's saying all my pictures are too big..... :( Can anyone explain to me how to make them smaller?

Photo viewing software on your computer probably has a resize function. Use that to shrink the photo to the right size for an avatar. Your profile page where you go to add the avatar will tell you how small it has to be.

What a great thread. Thanks kitchenelf! I've already got answers to several 'how to's' without having to ask. Most helpful.

here's a question. Why do the posts that I reply to

disappear? Right away. Gone. Shouldn't they move to the top of the new posts list? This has happened every time I have replied. That is the main reason that I do not participate more often here. I can never find my posts or replies. What is the trick to understanding this site?

Posts you have read or replied to don't show when you click on new posts because there is nothing there new for you to see. When someone else responds, they will reappear.

You can see them if you select Today's posts. Go to QUICK LINKS on the blue menu bar under the DC logo and click on Today's Posts. An up to date list will appear.
