Fingers Of Buddha

I was in the supermarket tonight and I saw a fruit I had never seen before. It was very interesting looking. It was called fingers of Buddha or hand of Buddha (I can't remember which). I would have bought one to try except they were $6 each. Does anyone know anything about them? Have you ever tried them? How do you eat them? What does it taste like?
