Help, again! How to measure!

The recipe for peanut butter cookies tells me to use 4 tblsps margarine melted....do I measure 4 tblsps and then just melt that or do I have to make sure the melted amount measures 4 tblsps!

Recipes are like that...

It means take 4 T of margerine (use butter !!!!) and melt it

Melt then measure, leave the residue behind. It would be like using claified butter.

That's how I interpreted it, too.

But I seem to have a knack for making a mountain out of a mole hill, as you all may have noticed by now. Thank you, all!

Even if building a mole hill, you should simply follow the directions. The rule: "If all else fails, read the directions" is a good one to follow.
