In the oven.

I use a Le Crueset most of the time and find that it's easier to braise in the oven as I don't have to run back and forth adjusting the burner to get the simmer just right.

Also, the oven provides an even all-around heat to the entire pot, not just to the bottom.
 
Sorry neither, I brown the floured meat and veg on the stove top, then put it in my slow cooker with stock.
 
Depends on what I am cooking and how soon we want to eat. I even braise in a pressure cooker.
 
I used to use a pressure cooker, but now that I'm retired I like slow cooking just for the smell.

I'm debating getting a slow cooker, though just because of the almost sure good results every time.
