In a book I found the following line:
2 level dsp cornflour
how much is this?

It's dessert spoon, larger than a teaspoon and smaller than a tablespoon. One source tells me it is two teaspoons, and another that it is 14.5 mils. With a dry prodcut a guesstimate should be fine, if it were a liquid it may be a bit more stressful!

Is it an Australian recipe? We use dessertspoons.

'dsp' is 'desert spoon' and it equals 2 teaspoons, or 10mls. I have a set of British measuring spoons, which gives the measurements in both spoonfuls and mls:

for reference:
1 tsp = 5mls
1 dsp = 10mls
1 tblspn = 15mls

Best wishes, Paint.

And an Australian dessertspoon is 14.5 mls, just to confuse things! So check the origin of the recipe or book and see if you can ascertain which it is.
