I have watched many cooking shows, and i often see scenes in the kitchen, the chef say's for example" scallops all day" what in the world does "all day" mean?

I would guess it means that they will serve them at any time of day, even for breakfast. Many places serve breakfast all day, so maybe they serve dinner all day.
