Okay here's a knockoff experiment of the Shepard's Pie.....

Chopped up boneless Country Style Ribs* with a 50/50 mix of gravy and bbq sauce

How about some peas and then some mushrooms?

Mashed tater, a sprinkling of the Taco Cheese and some smoked paprika :)

About an hour and a half at 250°, indirect, and we are done

The next time I do it (and I will!), it will be a Breakfast Casserole. Left over meats, gravy, bbq sauce, cheese, mushrooms ONLY, more cheese, now some Hash Browns w/about six indents, bacon crumbles. When it's almost done, add an egg to each indent. Finish cooking and add cheese if desired.

* use whatever meats and sauces you want

I am being told that since it uses beef it is a cottage pie, shepards pie uses lamb. Don't really care myself, but it got me thinking about using lamb and a curry gravy to make something like this...

Some left over Lamb Shank (if there is such a thing  ) would work great.
