After a couple of wonderful suggestions I received here on another thread about meat thermometers I decided to order one of these.

This just came in the mail at work and I just had to test its accuracy right away so I stuck the thermometer in my mouth. Reading was instantaneous and I would say that it's fairly accurate.

Oh, and I got these also, just for fun...

Sweet.
How instant is it? I have a digital thermometer that was given to me years ago. It seems fast, but I wouldn't say instant... maybe 10-15 seconds? I suppose I could always use another thermometer. Gotta link?

LOL I wouldn't even ever have thought to test it in my mouth!!!!
I've always stuck 'em in boiling water.... but I think your way sounds a whole lot less labor-intensive!
Thanks!

It is a fun way to test, but certainly not an accurate way since your temperature can obviously fluctuate. For a test like this though it at least gives you a ballpark.

Congrats on your purchase. Use it well and often.
