Can I grill it? How does it taste? Should I do it whole or separate the leaves?
We are BBQing a london broil for dinner and probably some yellow squash and I just thought I'd try the lettuce for a ceasar salad???
Thanks in advance

I made a ceaser salad with grilled romaine the other night, WOW what a difference a little charring makes, the lettuce takes on an almost nutty flavor. I can't wait to make another one and I am Monday night!

Never heard of grilling it. Whole or leaves??

Take off the big outside leaves or buy hearts, cut in half lengthwise drizzle with olive oil and grill on a grill or a grill pan till it has marks and is slightly wilted. .

I never even thought to do this! I love romaine lettuce and caesar salad. I will definetly try this now.

yep... you can grill it and it is wonderful!!! My favorite way to prepare romaine!

As stated earlier, cut in half lenghtwise... drizzle with evoo, coarse salt and a bit of black pepper. Lay on grill and char. I like to add a bit of Italian dressing to mine upon serving... not much tho, just a teeny bit. It tastes sooooo good!
