I made this last night, with one, large gala apple. It was very tasty, especially with whipped cream on the side. Here's how it was done.
Ingredients:
1/2 gala apple per person
2 tbs. brown sugar per apple
4 tsp. butter per apple
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Core apples and cut in half. Place flat side up into a microwave safe baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar, then cinnamon, then nutmeg. Place a tsp. of butter on top of each apple half.
Place two halve into the microwave at a time, and cook on highest setting for 4 minutes.
The apples are done perfectly, and the apple skin is tender. Serve whipped cream on the side as the hot apple and butter will melt it. Just cut the apples into bite-sized pieces on the desert plate, allowing it to be eaten with a spoon.
Me, I took a spoonful of apple, scooped up a bit of whipped cream and popped it into my mouth. The flavor fo all ingredients came through perfectly, and created a symphony in my mouth. I like it.
