My mom made the best blackberry pie. I would request it for my birthday every year. I can remember her rolling out the dough and filling the pie with the blackberries. She would let us kids eat the extra dough and dip it in the leftover blackberry juice.

Blackberry Pie

6 cups fresh blackberries (washed and sorted)

2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 ½ cups sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup sifted flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 crust pie pastry
2 tablespoons butter

Mix together dry ingredients. Sprinkle blackberries with lemon juice. Add dry ingredients to berries. Stir gently. Pour berry mixture into pie shell. Dot berries with butter. Add top crust and trim. Flute and prick top crust with fork. Bake 425º for 10 minutes. Then bake 350º for 40-45 minutes.
