My wife is a true native Californian, born and bread in El Cajon, and so has chosen CalifGirl for her DC name.

As promised, I am posting her strawberry pie. Here it is in all its golory.

CG's Strawberry Pie

Ingredients:
Enough super sweet, fresh strawberries that is required to fill a ten inch, deep dish pie pan so that the strawberries form a heaping mound, and look like they are about to spill over.
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 1/2 cups strawberry glaze.
9 tbs. butter
3 tbs. sugar

Melt the butter. Combine the graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Mix the melted butter with the crumb mixture thoroughly; then press into the deep dish pan. Chill the crust.

Wash and hull the strawberries. Dry lightly on paper towels. Pour into the crust. Pour strawberry glaze over the pie. Chill for 30 minutes and serve.

For an added treat, and wonderful presentation, when serving, have a can of sterno flaming on a heat-proof plate. Have a tbs. or so of powdered cinnamon in a finger bowl. With your fingers, sprinkle a little pinch of cinnamon onto each slice of pie. Take another pinch of the cinnamon and lightly sprinkle it over the flame. It will crackle like tiny fireworks, and spread the aroma of cinnamon into the air.
