Frozen banana pie
I had this dessert at easter, and it was wonderful. Seemed pretty simple to make, too. It was a frozen pie, though I can't see why it wouldn't work if kept in the fridge...
It had a graham cracker crust, a vanilla pudding based custard, one layer of sliced bananas and whipped cream on top. I'm not sure what was done to the bananas so they wouldn't turn dark, especially after being in the freezer Anyway, it's definitely worth a try. |

Maybe dipping the banana slices in lemon juice? Or having them completely covered with the custard? Have you tried it yet?

But why would you freeze pudding? Sounds good though, as a kid I loved old fashioned banana cream pie made with extra-thick banana pudding, mini-marshmellows, nilla wafers, and cool whip.

I haven't tried it because I'm watching my figure
I will next time we have some kind of holiday though. I think I'll simply refrigerate it. And cover the bananas with the custard. If anyone tries it first, let me know! |
