Have you tried corn in a pecan pie?

Anyone ever tried putting corn in a pecan pie. Not a lot of corn, maybe 1/2 cup or less. Wouldn't it be the likeness of raisins in a pie sort of like a Japanese fruit pie?

Never considered it. It doesn't sound particularly appetizing.

I'm thinking about using a pecan pie recipe in small individual tart pans, leaving the nuts out of one & throwing a few kernels of sweet corn in. Sort of shooting for serious buttery Sweet caramelized corn.

Well, give it a try and let us know how it turns out. We may have a new recipe.

It sound like a Canadian butter tart that swapped out the raisins for corn. I would never have thought of it, I am sure it would taste fine. I am not sure if you would need to adjust for the moisture in the corn by reducing the liquid a little. I am from up north so I would make it with maple syrup.

Don't forget the whipped cream, and maybe a splash of bourbon!
