Crisco is hydrogenated vegetable oil - shortening. If it's yellow, it's probably butter flavored Crisco.

Sorry I wasn't clear Andy M. yes I was speaking about butter flavored Crisco. I am just curious about it's make-up and how it affects our insides...

Vegetable oils are treated with hydrogen (hydrogenated) to make them solid at room temperature. Shortening is said to reduce good cholesterol (HDL) and increase bad cholesterol (LDL).
