I have some left over puff pastry I want to make like a round, like pillsbury cinnamin rolls. I know the texture won't be the same, but I'm going to brush the layers with butter and sprinkle chopped nuts, cinnamin, sugar and maybe some brown sugar.
Roll up and cut, lay them down and bake.
I know it's not like Pillsbury, but the reason I make the comparison is, I want to make the icing you "ice" the rolls with.
Can someone confirm or tell me if it's just a simple mix of alittle water, tiny amount of vanilla extract, and confectioner's sugar?
If not, any instructions?
Thanks.

I would use milk instead of water for the liquid otherwise you are good to go. I've never used water in icing always milk so I don't know how that would change the texture if at all.

Right, just stir it up. If you think it's too thick add a bit more milk or too runny add more sugar. My mom has a recipe for frosting that's easy.
1/2 c. butter softened,
1 lb powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
milk - add enough to make sreading consistency. If you leave out the butter, you get a nice glaze, with the butter, you get a good frosting for cakes.
