I'm making my girlfriend a rather elaborate cake for her birthday. I wanted to use a bit of whipping cream as part of the garnish, but I know just straight whipping cream eventually turns back into liquid. Is there any way, such as gelatin or a stiffener, to make the cream hold its volume and whipped form?
 
I believe this was asked in a thread recently. You may want to do a search and see. I suppose it would depend on how long you need to keep the cream whipped.
