I know if you want to make a black icing it's best to color a chocolate icing as opposed to a white buttercream (when you end up with varying shades of dark gray). But what's the best way to make a very black royal icing?

I haven't had that experience (not that I want to..) but I think about it when I go to decorate for halloween, so I stick to Orange and use a lot of black licorace etc.
