Chocolate Devil's Food Cake

This is a recipe that my Gram would make for every family dinner.

Devil's Food Cake

Preheat oven to350
In a sauce pan
1/2 Cup Cocoa
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Milk
cook above ingredients until thick,remove from heat and add
1/2 Cup butter
1 egg
1 Cup sugar
1 1/2 Cup flour
Beat well and blend in
1 Cup boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Put into 9x9 in. pan Bake for about 30 minutes at 350

Yours sounds similar to one that's been in my family for several generations. Look here for the recipe. Many times I've cut the recipe in half and cooked it in an 8- x 8-inch pan.

Your welcome UB. Since my Gram passed(the one I got the cast iron skillet from),family designated me to make "her" cake, cookies, and pickles because no one esle knows how. Glad I asked her to show me how to make them.
