Gingerbread Cake

1/2 c margarine
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 c molasses
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
1 c hot water

Cream butter and sugar together. Add molasses and then the egg, beating well after each addition. Alternate dry and wet (hot water) 1/2 dry then 1/2 wet, repeat.

Pour into a 9x13 greased pan and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until done. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, or cool with whipped cream.

Hi Alix!

How'd you know I've been craving gingerbread?

Just a happy coincidence I guess. I keep losing this recipe and I know if I put it here I'll always find it. Happy to share as it's one of my favorites.

Alix? Is that really you, Alix? Good to see you! Stop by more often so we know you're still alive and kickin', eh?

All bow to the Queen of Canucks!
