Gingerbread Cake

1/2 c margarine
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 c molasses
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
1 c hot water

Cream butter and sugar together. Add molasses and then the egg, beating well after each addition. Alternate dry and wet (hot water) 1/2 dry then 1/2 wet, repeat.

Pour into a 9x13 greased pan and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until done. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, or cool with whipped cream.
 
Hey ladies! Happy late Thanksgiving. Kayelle, would you believe I don't like lemon sauce on gingerbread cake??? Crazy hey?
 
Just a happy coincidence I guess. I keep losing this recipe and I know if I put it here I'll always find it. Happy to share as it's one of my favorites.
 
Making this tonight. It is crappy outside and the smell of gingerbread will make us all happy!
