These are fantastic. I add a little extra liquid to the batter, and frost them with a dark chocolate ganache:
DARK CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES (from Cook's Illustrated)
CAKE ON THE BRAIN: THE BEST CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES EVER: CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES WITH VANILLA SWISS MERINGUE BUTTERCREAM
