This is another heirloom family recipe. My mom's side of the family was born in Hungary.

Grandma Gertie's Crumb Coffee Cake
3 cups flour
2 cups sgar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sweet butter
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon baking powder

cinnamon and nutmeg--to taste

3 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream or sour milk

2 teaspoon vanilla
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:
Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, stir the first 6 ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, butter, oil and baking powder) and mix like a pie crust. Set aside one cup of this mixture and add cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. This set aside cup will be the topping.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, baking soda, sour cream or sour milk. Combine with the first batter (leave the remaining cup that you set aside alone). Add the final vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix.
Pour the batter into the greased pan. Sprinkle the topping over the batter. You may add additional cinnamon and nutmeg on top, if desired--this is additional to the spice listed above. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
