ISO "maid of honor" cake recipe

Looking for a recipe for "maid of honor" cake

I remember my mother making a cake that had a pie crust bottom, layered with rasberry (jam I think) The cake was white and the frosting I forget. I would love to find a recipe for it since I remember really liking it.

I like the Maid of Honor Tarts myself. I wonder if that's a reference to the bride's maids?
