ISO Mexican Fruit Cake

Our new member sparkiem is in search of something called a Mexican Fruit Cake. Can anyone help him?

I was at a company dinner and someone had brought a cake, that was really great. I could not find out who made it, but I was told it was called a Mexican Fruit cake. If anyone thinks they have a recipe for it please let me know. It did not have a lot of fruit, only pineapples I think.
