you need to preheat your oven to 325 and then, Cream a 1/2 lb. of butter with 2-c. sugar til fluffy. add, 5 eggs one at a time, beat after ach addition. Add these to the butter sugar mixture..2-c.a/p flour,sifted,1/4 tea. salt, 1/4 tea. baking powder, 1/2 tea. mace.1-tea. nutmeg, 2-tea. vanilla, 1-Tab. brandy.
Butter and flour a 9 inch loaf pan, also you can butter some parchment and line the pan, then pour in the batter and bake 1-1/2 hours or til toothpick in center comes out clean.
