1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup margarine
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/4 cup hot water
Heat oven to 350
In bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 1/4 cup cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Melt butter, add milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Add cocoa/sugar mixture. Mix well. Pour into 9 inch baking pan.
Mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle and cover top of cake batter. DO NOT STIR.
Pour hot water on top of dry ingredients. DO NOT STIR
Bake 35 - 40 minutes or until the center is almost set.
Let stand 15 minutes. Spoon into dish and spoon sauce over top. Really good with vanilla ice cream.
