I know, I know -- sacrilegious on a cooking site, but there's only so much I can do from afar.

Ages ago I tasted fruitcake from Collins Street in Texas and remember it as being very good. Has anyone used them recently? Has anyone tried Monastery's? Any others to recommend?

Looking for very pure ingredients and a high ratio of fruits/nuts to cake. Pecans are a +++!

No-one's ever gone near one, or should this be posted elsewhere?

Sorry to ask. I assure you that I DO make my own usually, but it just doesn't make $$$ sense to mail it from Greece ...

Well - you know the story about the fruitcake, don't you? There's only 1 fruitcake in the world - it just keeps getting passed around!:ROFLMAO:

Sorry i can't help you out.

LOL! Clearly a quote from the UHOF -- United Haters of Fruitcake?!

Thanks for your response in any event :flowers: . I'll end up closing my eyes and pointing and just hoping that the one I choose is good!
