I've been wanting to try a recipe found on Epicurious. It is a Tiramisu wedding cake that I thought I'd play around with a little to offer as a 9" layer cake. Take a look at the site (sorry- not skilled enough on the computer to put the link in!), it looks like a good recipe.
True Italian Tirami Su is neither cake nor ice cream, but is made as a trifle. Much more as a pudding. It is a real shame what has happened to what truly is a sublime dessert when it gets into the hands of folks who have no clue what it really is.
Shooooooooot! in Japan they even make a drinkable version!
