Here are the kids' treats I made for my boy's birthday party.
I used twinkies, and coated them with the ready-made frosting (not the
whipped kind). However, I did mix in 1/2 c. powdered sugar for each can,
and the 'bugs' came out nice and stiff. I also made sure to use gel color,
so they'd be bright, but not too runny. The goodies on top are an assortment
of mini m&ms, licorice whips & gummies.

Glad you liked 'em!
Dina - word to the wise: draw the "feet" on the platter before placing the frosted twinkie on top.

Another idea that I've done before with my other son: twinkie racecars! Use gummy lifesavers for wheels.

OOooh! I love the racers idea. My husband is all about cars...that is a great idea for his birthday!

Che Cariniiiii!!!! (How Cuuuuuuuute!!!):w00t2:

They are so pretty I would hesitate to eat them!! I bet they were huge hits with your boy and his buddies, well done, Jkath!!:punk:

WOW!! They're just too cute for words, i better not let my daughter see them - otherwise she'll volunteer mommy to make them for her entire class...
Wish i had your flair and sense of creativity and art work!
