Actually Wyogal, I do find them nice and chewy, but here is another one. Personally I like the first recipe better, but there are definitely dense and chewy.

That's great, I was just trying to help. Several times it was expressed that "cake like" was NOT what she was looking for, so when it was describes as "cake like" I thought I'd help clarify.
but, the OP has settled on a recipe, so I'm outta here...

I baked these and they were cake-like. They do have a good taste tho. I think all the moisture in the canned pumpkin is the reason why they are cake-like. I wonder if I cut the canned pumpkin to 1/2 cup instead of 1 cup would make them less cake-like?
