Butter or Shortening.

Does anyone know if i can use shortening instead of butter in a cookie recipe

I exchanage one for the other or do 1/2 & 1/2 ALL the time.

It's just a matter of deciding whether you want saturated fat (butter) or hydrogenated vegetable oil (shortening).

Shortening will also make a fluffier cookie.

i do it all the time, i use stick shortening butter flavored.
