Found this recipe, I haven't Tried then yet, but they sound interesting. It said that
These cookies are chewy like a brownie and can be made with any cake mix flavor. Lemon and Devil's Food is the best.
Cool Whip Cookies
8oz cool whip
1 egg
1 box of cake mix
powdered sugar
Mix egg, cool whip and cake mix.
Batter will be very sticky.
Roll teaspoon full of batter in powdered sugar.
Bake at 350 for 8-12 minutes. Cookies will be chewy like brownies

I haven't made these yet. We used to make some that you added 2 eggs and 1/2 cup shortening to the dry cake mix. Roll into balls and roll in powdered sugar. Bake at 350 about 20-30 minutes. They are so gooooood!!
 
They came from Betty Crocker, I think they are called Chocolate crinkles with the chocolate mix. We have used just about every mix though and it works the same for all of them.
 
I tried the CoolWhip Cookies a few days ago, and they were really good! The batter is terribly sticky, but the cookies are chewy and chocolatey and yummy. :-p
