Mexican Wedding Cookies--Recipe Needed Salt

I made these from a recipe that called for unsalted butter and wanted to say to anyone making them, use a recipe that calls for a bit of salt if you use the unsalted butter. Something is missing in my cookie. I hadn't realized what a difference 1/4 tsp of salt can make. The best I can describe my cookie inside is rather flat.

Licia, had the original recipe called for salted butter or unsalted plus some salt? You're right, depending on rest of the ingredients, a small amount of salt can affect how the cookies rise. I hope they still taste OK!

They taste great as long as you pop the whole thing in your mouth and, of course, that is what needs to be done to keep sugar from covering your clothes. But I will either use the salted butter or a pinch of salt to unsalted next time. Live and learn should be my motto!!!!
