Cook, until mixture boils:

2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
½ cup milk
1 stick margarine

Remove from heat. Add:

½ cup peanut butter
3 cups oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla

Stir well. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Let cool.

Thank you very much! I like them because they taste more peanut butter-y than many No Bake Cookies that I have tried. I hope you enjoy them if you try them!

they sound like what i make which we call Chocolate Haystacks
The only difference mine doesn't call for peanut butter - I put shredded coconut in it .

Going to try the peanut butter sounds good thanks

Sounds great. I would try using half splenda / half sugar, as my husband has to watch his sugar intake also. I did that yesterday with biscotti and cookies, and they turned out fine. Thanks again, jd.

Can you use less sugar? Maybe Splenda , as someone has suggested or half sugar half Splenda?

Since no bake cookies are more of a candy than a cookie, you may want to look into how splenda reacts to candy making.

My experience is that you can not use much less sugar than called for. The "cookies" won't set up properly.
