Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup dry-roasted unsalted shelled peanuts, chopped (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well blended. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips and peanuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with the tines of a fork to form a crisscross pattern. Bake 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow to cool 1 minute on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Yield: 4 dozen.

Oh, those sound heavenly! I'll bet my little Jesse would enjoy making them with me one afternoon after school. (I keep him till his mom gets home.) We've had such lovely weather...82 yesterday...that he's been playing outside after he gets his homework done. But it's November, and nasty weather will be setting in any time now.
How I love 8 year olds!

By the way, I like your sig...ain't it the truth!
