Storing cookie dough

How long can chocolate chip cookie dough be stored in the fridge and how long frozen?

A couple of days in the fridge, a few months in the freezer. I know someone who makes all her Christmas cookie dough in September.

I have kept them for months in the freezer. It might help also to freeze the cookies in a log and then slice them as you need them. There is less surface that is exposed to air.

Smart lady. Wish I had known her during my baking for all the holidays. I used to have the grandkiddies come to make cookies with me for the holidays. I sure do wish I have known that little trick instead of driving myself crazy the day before.
