Hello all! I love making sugar cookies. I love them more when I can use cookie cutters to make them adorable shapes. But I have a problem. I have used about six different recipes and no matter what I do the shape the cookie is suppose to be comes out enlarged and deformed. Am I missing something very simple to solve my deformed cookie problem? Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

your dough should be kept as cold as possible until it's baked. I pull my scraps into a ball immediately after cutting and put them in the freezer for 5 min.... roll, cut, bake, FAST.

:) A trick I learned making springerly cookies is to either to put cookies on pan in the fridge about 20 minutes or let them sit out a few hours to dry out a bit. Maybe just add a bit more flour?

fridge them for a bit and let the fat in the recipe chill and set back up.

also baking them on a room temp or chilled cookie sheet will help that out.
